Before using this medicine, consult your doctor in the following cases:
If you have a history of allergy to penicillins, cephalosporins, penicillin derivatives, penicillamine, preservatives or dyes.
If you have kidney disease and gastrointestinal diseases.
If you are taking any other medication.
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Use of the medicine during pregnancy and lactation should be under the advice of a specialist.
Warnings:
If you experience any allergic reaction to the medicine, stop taking the medicine. In severe allergies, immediate medical action is required.
Take the medicine at regular intervals and complete the course of treatment.
If you have severe diarrhea, contact your doctor and avoid self-medicating with antidiarrheal medications.
If your symptoms do not improve or worsen within a few days, tell your doctor.
This medication may interfere with blood sugar tests, so talk to your doctor before changing your dose of antidiabetic medication.
Intramuscular injection should be given deep into a large muscle.
This product contains approximately 2.6 milliequivalents of sodium per gram, so caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients on a sodium restriction regimen.
Dosage:
The dosage of the medication will be determined by your doctor, but the usual dosage of this medication is as follows:
Adults:
Mild to moderate infections: 1 gram every 8 to 12 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Severe infections: 1 gram every 8 hours or 2 grams every 8 to 12 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Children 6 months to 12 years:
50 mg per kilogram of body weight every 6 to 8 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Children under 6 months:
The effectiveness and safety of this medication in this age group have not been established.
How to use the drug:
For intramuscular injection, add 1.5 and 3 ml of sterile water for injection to the 500 mg and 1 g vials of Zoxim hardness, respectively, and shake well.
For direct intravenous injection, add 5 and 10 ml of sterile water for injection to the contents of the 500 mg and 1 g vials of Zoxim hardness, respectively, and shake well until completely dissolved. Inject the above solution intravenously over 3-5 minutes. For intravenous infusion, dilute the above solution with a volume of 50 to 100 ml with 0.9% sodium chloride injection solution or 5% dextrose injection. Intravenous infusion should be performed over a period of 30-15 minutes.
The resulting solutions should be clear and free of any turbidity or foreign particles. Otherwise, avoid injection.
The color of the resulting solutions can be light yellow to amber. Do not inject if the color changes.
Inject the resulting solution immediately after preparation.
Drug interactions:
Avoid mixing Seftizoxim with aminoglycosides. If simultaneous administration is required, these drugs should be injected at two separate sites.
Side effects:
Each drug may cause some unwanted side effects in parallel with the desired therapeutic effect. Given that not all of these side effects are seen in one person. Consult your doctor if any of the following side effects occur:
Allergic reactions: rash, itching, fever.
Liver effects: temporary increase in SGOT, SGPT and alkaline phosphatase.
Blood effects: eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia.
Local side effects at the injection site: pain, stiffness and burning.
Storage conditions:
Store the dry product at a temperature below 30 ° C, away from light and moisture, and in the box until use.
Do not use expired medicine.
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Afazox® 500 mg powder for solution for injection: Each vial contains 500 mg of cefazolin (as sodium salt) and is packaged in a box of 20 with a leaflet.
Afazox® 1 g powder for solution for injection: Each vial contains 1000 mg of cefazolin (as sodium salt) and is packaged in a box of 20 with a leaflet.
The anticoagulant effect of warfarin may be increased when used concomitantly with cephalosporins.
