This medicine has been prescribed for your current condition, so do not use it in similar cases or recommend its use to others.

General instructions:

Before taking this medicine, consult your doctor in the following cases:

If you are allergic to this medicine or any other substance such as food, preservatives, dyes, etc.

If you have a history of any disease.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

If you are taking any medication.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Cinnarizine should not be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings:

Cinnarizine is used in adults and children over 5 years of age.

If you have Parkinson’s disease, taking cinnarizine can worsen symptoms, so you should consult your doctor about this.

If you have epilepsy, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, and urinary retention, be sure to inform your doctor.

If you have liver and kidney problems, cinnarizine should be used with caution.

If you have a blood problem called porphyria, cinnarizine is contraindicated.

Cinnarizine can affect the results of a skin allergy test, so if you need to do a skin allergy test, stop taking the drug 4 days in advance.

If you are taking anti-anxiety, sleeping pills, painkillers, or antidepressants, be sure to inform your doctor.

Dosage:

The doctor will determine the dosage for each patient. However, the usual dosage is as follows.

Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, or Meniere’s disease:

Adults over 12 years old: 30 mg, three times a day.

Children 5 to 12 years old: 15 mg, three times a day.

Motion sickness:

Adults over 12 years: Initially 30 mg taken 2 hours before travel, then 15 mg every 8 hours as needed.

Children 5 to 12: Initially 15 mg taken 2 hours before travel, then 7.5 mg every 8 hours as needed.

Note: Cinnarizine should not be used in children under 5 years of age.

How to take the medicine:

Take the medicine after food and with water.

If you take more than the prescribed amount, see a doctor.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip that dose and do not double the dose.

Avoid stopping the medicine suddenly.

Cinnarizine may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so avoid driving or doing things that require great attention.

Side effects:

In addition to the desired therapeutic effects, every drug may have some unwanted side effects. Inform your doctor if any of the following side effects occur.

Important side effects that require doctor’s notice if they occur:

Severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, tongue, lips, difficulty breathing, itching and skin rashes.

Common side effects:

Dizziness, digestive disorders, nausea and weight gain.

Less common side effects:

Fatigue, increased sweating and vomiting.

Rare side effects:

Dry mouth, headache, jaundice, movement disorders, muscle stiffness, Parkinsonism, skin complications, lupus and tremor.

Storage conditions:

Store the drug at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius, away from light and moisture.

Avoid using expired medicine.

Keep the drug out of the reach of children.

This drug is produced and supplied in the form of scored tablets containing 25 and 75 mg of cinnarizine in boxes of 100 by Afa Shimi Pharmaceutical Company.
