Enteric-coated capsules 100 mg doxycycline hyclate and capsules 100 mg doxycycline monohydrate

This medicine has been prescribed for your current condition. Therefore, do not use it in similar cases or recommend its use to others.

General instructions:

Before using this medicine, consult your doctor in the following cases:

In case of allergy to this medicine, other tetracyclines and other medicines or any other substance such as food, preservatives, dyes, etc.
In case of severe liver diseases, sexually transmitted diseases
Doxycycline with hyclate salt has an enteric coating, so it is more suitable for people with a history of stomach problems.
Use in pregnancy and lactation:

Doxycycline should not be used during pregnancy and lactation unless under the advice of a specialist.

Warnings:
Tetracyclines, including doxycycline, should not be used during tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy, and childhood up to age 8) because tetracyclines cause permanent discoloration of teeth in childhood.
Avoid prolonged use of doxycycline in children under 8 years of age (21 days).
Tetracyclines are excreted in milk, and therefore, doxycycline should be avoided during breastfeeding if possible.
The dosage of doxycycline should be determined with caution in elderly patients due to decreased liver, kidney, or heart function, or concomitant diseases and other drug treatments.
During treatment with tetracyclines, including doxycycline, excessive sunlight or ultraviolet radiation should be avoided as much as possible and sunscreen should be used. Treatment should be discontinued if skin toxicity occurs, accompanied by signs of severe sunburn.
If serious skin reactions occur, doxycycline should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be initiated.
Doxycycline has been associated with increased intracranial pressure in adults and bulging fontanels in infants. Avoid concomitant use of doxycycline with isotretinoin, as isotretinoin has also been associated with increased intracranial pressure.
Almost all antibiotics, including doxycycline, have been associated with diarrhea associated with Clostridium difficile. Tell your doctor if diarrhea occurs even up to two months after stopping doxycycline.
If you are taking oral contraceptives, use additional methods of contraception during tetracycline therapy.
Tell your doctor if you develop abdominal cramps, high fever, bloody diarrhea, skin rash, joint pain, and fatigue.
Doxycycline may worsen the disease in patients with myasthenia gravis, porphyria, or systemic lupus erythematosus and should be used only with the doctor’s prescription.
Some medications, such as antacids, oral zinc or bismuth, carbamazepine, phenytoin, and barbiturates, can reduce the effectiveness of doxycycline.
Doxycycline can increase the effect of warfarin or coumarins and increase blood levels of cyclosporine.
Alcohol consumption may reduce the effectiveness of doxycycline capsules and should be avoided.

Dosage:

Adults:
Chest, lung, urinary tract, eye and other infections:

The usual dose is 200 mg on the first day, then 100 mg daily. The length of treatment depends on the infection.

Acute infections:

100 mg twice daily.

Respiratory anthrax:

100 mg twice daily for 60 days.

Malaria prevention:

100 mg daily from 1 to 2 days before travel to a malaria-endemic area until 4 weeks after return from travel.

Primary syphilis:

100 mg twice daily for 2 weeks.

Syphilis (over one year):

100 mg twice daily for 4 weeks.

Sexually transmitted diseases:

100 mg twice daily for 7 to 10 days.

Doxycycline Monohydrate Capsule:
Chest, lung, urinary tract, eye and other infections:

The usual dose is 200 mg on the first day and then 100 mg daily. The length of treatment depends on the infection.

Acute infections:

100 mg twice daily.

Acne:

150 mg daily

Respiratory anthrax:

100 mg twice daily for 60 days.

Primary and secondary syphilis:

300 mg daily in divided doses for at least 10 days

Sexually transmitted diseases:

100 mg twice daily for 7 to 10 days

How to take the medicine:

It is recommended that doxycycline be taken one hour before or two hours after meals.

To prevent irritation or ulceration of the esophagus, take the medicine with plenty of water.

It is better to always take the capsule at the specified time.

The medicine should be taken until the last dose prescribed, arbitrarily stopping the medicine can cause the infection to return.

It is better not to lie down for half an hour after taking doxycycline.

If you forget to take a dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for the next dose, do not take it and avoid doubling the dose.

Side effects:
