This medicine has been prescribed for your current condition, so do not use it in similar cases or recommend its use to others.
General instructions:
Before using this medicine, consult your doctor in the following cases:
If you are allergic to this medicine or any other substance such as food, preservatives, dyes, etc.
If you have a history of allergy to penicillins, cephalosporins and penicillins.
If you have allergic diseases such as asthma, eczema, hay fever and hives, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal diseases.
If you are taking any type of antibiotic and other drugs such as oral contraceptives containing estrogen, methotrexate and probenecid.
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Penicillin V during pregnancy and lactation should be taken under the supervision of a specialist.
Warnings:
Penicillin V can cause severe allergic reactions. Therefore, if you have a history of allergies to drugs such as penicillins, cephalosporins, and imipenem or meropenem, the drug is contraindicated.
If the disease does not improve after a few days of taking the drug, inform your doctor.
In case of severe diarrhea, contact your doctor and avoid taking antidiarrheal drugs on your own.
Taking penicillin V with estrogen-containing contraceptives simultaneously reduces the effectiveness of the contraceptive, which can lead to unwanted pregnancy; therefore, use another method of contraception while taking penicillin V.
Penicillin V may cause false results in blood sugar measurement tests; therefore, consult your doctor before changing your diet or changing the dose of blood sugar-lowering drugs.
Long-term use of penicillins may cause candidiasis.
Dosage:
The dosage of the medicine is determined by the attending physician for each patient. However, the usual dosage of the medicine is as follows:
In adults and children over 12 years:
Bacterial infections:
125 to 500 mg (200,000 to 800,000 units) every 6 to 8 hours.
Prevention of streptococcal infections in patients with a history of rheumatic heart disease:
125 to 250 mg (200,000 to 400,000 units) every 12 hours.
Children under 12 years:
2.5 to 3.8 mg (4,167 to 13,250 units) per kilogram of body weight every 4 hours or 3.75 to 12.5 mg (6,250 to 20,000 units) per kilogram of body weight every 6 hours or 5 to 16.7 mg (8,333 to 26,720 units) per kilogram of body weight every 8 hours.
How to take the medicine:
The medicine should be taken on an empty stomach (half an hour before meals or two hours after meals).
The medicine should be taken at specific times of the day.
If you take more than the prescribed amount, consult a doctor.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and do not double the dose.
Avoid stopping the medication suddenly.
Side effects:
In addition to the desired therapeutic effects, every medication may have some unwanted side effects. Inform your doctor if any of the following side effects occur.
Important side effects that require doctor’s attention if they occur:
Severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, tongue, lips, difficulty breathing, itching and skin rashes, and low blood pressure.
Less common side effects:
Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, headache, oral or vaginal candidiasis infections.
Storage conditions:
Store the medication at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius, away from light and moisture.
Avoid using expired medication.
Keep the medication out of the reach of children.

This drug is produced and supplied in the form of tablets containing 500 mg (800,000 units) of penicillin V in the form of potassium in boxes of 100 by Afa Chemie Pharmaceutical Company.
This drug is used in the treatment of infectious tonsillitis, otitis media, scarlet fever, and to prevent rheumatic fever.

Penicillin V is a bactericidal antibiotic. This drug binds to penicillin-binding proteins and thus inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. At lower concentrations, this drug has a bacteriostatic effect.
60-73% of the drug is absorbed orally, and its serum concentration reaches its peak after 0.5-1 hour.
The half-life of the drug is 0.5-1 hour, which increases to 4 hours in cases of renal failure. The protein binding of this drug is 80%.
20-40% of the drug is excreted unchanged in the urine.

Aminoglycosides, B.C.G (intravesical), B.C.G vaccine (immunogenic), cholera vaccine, lactobacilli and estriol, mycophenolate, sodium picosulfate, typhoid vaccine
