Cephalosporins are one of the oldest and most numerous antibiotics that are effective against many pathogens and are produced in various dosage forms such as capsules, suspensions, and injection vials, etc. These drugs, like penicillins, belong to the beta-lactam group. Ceftriaxone is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic.
Afixim (cefixim)
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, middle ear infections, and gonorrhea. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, thereby killing them, and is available orally in tablet and suspension forms.
Afapenem (Meropenem)
Meropenem is a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the beta-lactam and penem class that has a marked stability against hydrolysis by penicillinase and cephalosporinase (except metallo-beta-lactamase) produced by gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. The drug induces bacterial cell wall synthesis. Meropenem is used in the treatment of injuries including intra-abdominal injuries, meningitis, septicemic disease tract injuries, skin and soft tissue injuries, and traumatic tract injuries.
Afalex (cephalexin)
This drug is used to treat diseases caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria sensitive to the drug, including bone and joint infections, bacterial pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, tonsillitis, and urinary tract infections.
Afaclav (co-amoxiclav)
Co-amoxiclav is a combination antibiotic that contains amoxicillin (an antibiotic from the penicillin group) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). This combination increases the effectiveness of amoxicillin against bacteria that are resistant to common antibiotics.
