Vial of Afazid® (ceftazidime)
Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin that is effective against gram-negative bacteria, especially Pseudomonas species. Third-generation cephalosporins have relatively less activity against gram-positive cocci than first-generation cephalosporins, but are highly resistant to beta-lactamases from Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. Some third-generation cephalosporins, such as ceftazidime, are effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa but less effective against gram-positive cocci than others.
Vial Afazol® (Cefazolin)
Cefazolin is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefazolin is used to treat infections caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including urinary tract infections, especially during pregnancy, and as a prophylaxis before surgery. Other uses of cefazolin include the treatment of severe respiratory infections, genitourinary tract infections, skin, soft tissue, bone and joint infections, biliary tract infections, septicemia, endocarditis caused by susceptible organisms, and prevention of surgical site infections.
Cilapnem® vial (imipenem/cilastatin)
Imipenem/Cilastatin is a Penem antibiotic and a subclass of Carbapenems. It is used in the treatment of aerobic and anaerobic infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including infections of the intra-abdominal tract, bones and joints, skin and soft tissue, urinary and biliary tract, pneumonia following hospitalization, and septicemia in patients with weakened immune systems.
